Data Usage Policy
How QWIKIT uses, shares, stores and protects the information collected through this website.
What this policy covers
Information collected through this website: the request-access form, technical data from our hosting provider, and optional analytics. It does not describe how project files are handled inside the QWIKIT software; see the Security page for our approach, or ask us about a pilot. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
What we use it for
To respond to enquiries about pilots, licensing, investment and other topics; to follow up about QWIKIT; to keep a record of those conversations; to keep the website secure and working; and, only if you accept analytics, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use website information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Who processes it
We rely on a small number of service providers. Microsoft Azure hosts this website, stores request-access submissions and delivers our confirmation and notification emails. Google provides the typefaces used on this site and, only if you accept, Google Analytics. Our founding team reads submissions, which arrive by email. We share information with these providers only so they can provide those services to us, or when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Request-access submissions are stored in Microsoft Azure data centres in the United States (Azure Central US). Confirmation and notification emails are sent through Azure Communication Services. Because these providers operate internationally, information may be processed outside Canada and may be accessible to authorities in those places under their laws.
How long we keep it
We keep request-access submissions for as long as we need them to respond and manage the relationship, and for reasonable business records. Ask us to delete yours at any time and we will, unless we must keep it to meet a legal obligation. Google Analytics cookies expire after at most two years, and the analytics data we see is kept for the period configured in our Google Analytics account.
How we protect it
This website and its form are served over HTTPS. Submissions are stored in access-controlled Azure services, and only the founding team reads them. Analytics receives no names, emails, phone numbers or messages. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep confidential project details out of the request-access form.
Your choices
You can decline analytics cookies, change that choice with Cookie settings in the footer, and ask us to show, correct or delete your information through the contact page. The Privacy Policy has more.
Changes
If we change how we use website information, we will update this policy and its date first.
